Georgia trucker caught with illegal handgun outside New Cumberland military base

A Georgia trucker about to enter the Defense Logistics Agency in Cumberland is found to be in possession of an illegal handgun.  Police at the former New Cumberland Army Depot called Fairview Township Police at around 3 o’clock Wednesday afternoon.

A tractor trailer driven by 50 year old Lawrence Brockway, III, Talking Rock, Georgia was stopped at the entrance. Police had searched the cab of the big rig and found a loaded handgun.  Brockway was charged with Carrrying a Firearm without a License.  There is no indication that Brockway meant any harm towards anyone on the base.
