Beginning Monday, June 10, a new, long term traffic pattern will be implemented on Route 11/15 for the bridge replacement project in the area of East Pennsboro Township formerly known as West Fairview Borough in eastern Cumberland County.  This is the bridge that carries Route 11/15 over the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks. In this new traffic pattern, traffic will be shifted to the west. One lane of traffic on Route 11/15 traffic will be maintained in each direction through the construction work zone. The current left turn movement from northbound Route 11/15 to westbound Route 944 will be closed.  This movement will remain closed until the new bridge is opened to traffic, which is scheduled for the summer of 2015.  Motorists on northbound Route 11/15 headed to westbound Route 944 will be directed via a signed detour to continue north on Route 11/15 to Interstate 81, and then southbound on I-81 to Route 944 at the Wertzville Road interchange (Exit 61).  Please note that turns from southbound Route 11/15 to westbound Route 944 were prohibited prior to construction and this movement will remain closed.  Traffic movements from eastbound Route 944  to Route 11/15 will remain open.

In addition, as part of this traffic change, the Route 11/15 intersection with West and Fourth Streets will be permanently closed.  In order to handle the additional traffic caused by the closure of this intersection, Cargill Street between Route 944 and Fifth Street, which was previously closed for reconstruction and widening, will be reopened to traffic.
