Homemade chicken corn soup, hand-sliced potatoes, and pork barbecue was on the menu this evening at the annual conestoga fire festival.

And if that doesn’t sound delicious, kids and those young at heart got a chance to try their luck at a variety of games and wagon rides.

Volunteer fire fighters say the yearly event is a way to raise money for fire equipment, building maitenance, and day to day operations of the fire department.

“Them showing up and helping support and buying food and spending their money for the games and stuff is their way of saying thank you (for keeping us safe),” says Fire Department President, Troy Bresch.

Conestoga fire fighters are hoping the festival raises $9,000.
