Bicyclist killed in Adams County crash

A bicycle rider was killed Saturday after colliding with a car in Hamiltonban Township. Karim Ziyad, 28 of Hagerstown, Maryland, made a turn onto Carrolls Tract Road without yielding to oncoming traffic.

He was struck by a car and was flown to York Hospital where he later died. The driver of the car was not injured in the crash.

    When cyclists learn to obey the same traffic rules as everyone else, many more of them will live to a ripe old age.

      Perhaps. However, there are many drivers who feel they own the road.
      If I were riding a bicycle like I was a teen again, I would be using the sidewalks, when available and not heavily traveled (which is most of the time since walking is nearly a dead form of transportation)

    Consider that the cyclist is from Morocco originally…it is unfortunate.
