The Murnaghan family is now facing some backlash as 10-year old Sarah recovers from her lung transplant.

Some of the negative comments have prompted Sarah Murnaghan’s mother to post some “facts” about lung transplants to her Facebook page.

Janet Murnaghan noted her Facebook page was for supporters only, and that she didn’t want it to be a place for anything negative. This is after the “Save Sarah Murnaghan” page drew some negative comments.

The Murnaghan family spokeswoman said Janet did not know who created the page, but felt compelled to address some of the comments. The moderator of the page wrote, ” I CAN’T BELIEVE SOME OF THE NEG COMMENTS…Rude!!! rude!! rude!!…please don’t make neg comments… this page is to[o] encourage!!”

The negative comment–over Federal Judge Michael Baylson’s June 5th decision to grant a temporary restraining order against Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, preventing her from enforcing the Under 12 Rule for Sarah.

Some had sympathy for Sarah, but questioned which 13 year old child lost out on a transplant because of the decision.

Janet Murnaghan addressed the negative comments by writing, “the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network ultimately “agreed” with her family “and has changed its policy for ALL kids so that children like Sarah can get on the over-12 list if their doctors deem it appropriate medically.”

Janet Murnaghan says Sarah’s recovery from her June 12th transplant is difficult, but she is slowly improving.
