On June 18, the East Cocalico Township Police Department in conjunction with the Pennsylvania State Police Motor Carrier Enforcement Division and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture participated in “Operation Code Red”, a Refrigerated Enforcement Detail. This is an enforcement initiative focused on refrigerated food transportation units, to ensure food safety and proper temperature of perishable foods. The detail was conducted along Col. Howard Boulevard in East Cocalico Township. As a result, ten drivers were contacted, four loads were inspected, and one driver was placed out of service for an hours-in-service violation.
