They escaped without injury.  A State Police Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

Fire crews in York County battle flames and summer heat at a house fire.  Crews responded to a call at a home in the 5900 block of Steltz Road in Codorus Township.  The first firefighters on the scene reported flames pouring from the structure.

Additional tankers were called to supply water to battle the blaze. Fire crews worked in shifts due to the heat.  The flames were quickly knocked down but not before the fire caused extensive damage.  No word on the cause of the fire.

Yes, I agree. A dog is not going to stay in a house of fire unless out is trapped by the fire or a closed door. My thoughts and prayers go out the family who I will not mention for there privacy.

Please do not assume anything!!! My brother had
To climb out his window onto the roof to escape the flames. He tried going back in for the dogs but there was no way in. They left the doors open & screamed for the dogs to come out. They did everything that try could!!!
