UPDATE: Four people are homeless after a fire heavily damages their home in York County. Two family dogs also perished in the fire. The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen. Two people were at home when the fire broke out. They escaped without injury. A State Police Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
Fire crews in York County battle flames and summer heat at a house fire. Crews responded to a call at a home in the 5900 block of Steltz Road in Codorus Township. The first firefighters on the scene reported flames pouring from the structure.
Additional tankers were called to supply water to battle the blaze. Fire crews worked in shifts due to the heat. The flames were quickly knocked down but not before the fire caused extensive damage. No word on the cause of the fire.
