In fact, I don’t see any breaks from the monotony over the next seven days. Dare I say, summer truly came in like a lion? We’ll see if it goes out like a lamb.
Today and tomorrow, expect more clouds than sun. The breaks of sun that we do get this afternoon will foster more scattered thunderstorms.
Expect brief bursts of heavy rain if the thunderstorms pop up over your neighborhood.
Like yesterday, we have severe weather potential, particularly for strong, gusty winds. The lower Susquehanna Valley (counties that sit on the PA-MD state line) has the most potential for strong storms this afternoon because we’ll get the most sun there.
Highs today will jump to the upper 80s with the push of those breaks of sun.
Tonight, we’ll have partly cloudy skies. Any thunderstorms that do develop will end early in the night. We stay mild and muggy in the 70s all night. Eventually, we’ll bottom out near 70 around daybreak on Saturday.
Saturday, we’ll have the same weather as today: a mix of clouds of sun, a few thunderstorms, and humid conditions with highs in the upper 80s.
Sunday will end up as the cloudiest day of the weekend. We’ll still have a few thunderstorms and the humid conditions. Our highs will get knocked down to the mid 80s because we’ll have less sun than Friday and Saturday.
On Monday through Wednesday, we’ll have a mix of clouds and sun, a few thunderstorms, and a lot of humidity. Highs reach the upper 80s.
For the 4th of July, we’ll end up with more sun, enough to call it a partly sunny day. We’ll still have the heat, humidity, and pop-up thunderstorms with highs in the upper 80s.
If you’re beach or bay bound, no change in the forecast this weekend or next week. Expect pop-up thunderstorms, a mix of clouds and sun, and humid conditions there, too. Lewes, DE has a water temperature of 70; Cape May, NJ, 76; Maryland Bay, 78.
