A Snyder County man has been arrested as part of an ongoing effort to target the online sharing, downloading, and distribution of child pornography.

Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane identified the defendant as Randall Aucker, 39, 10 Smokehouse Lane, Shamokin Dam, Snyder County.

The charges state that agents conducting an online investigation found several files containing depictions of children – under the age of 18 – engaged in sexually graphic acts or poses. Agents later determined that the files were allegedly being downloaded to Aucker’s laptop computer.

On Thursday, June 27, 2013 agents from the Attorney General’s Child Predator Section arrested Aucker when he arrived home from work.

Aucker is charged with five counts of distribution of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility. He was preliminarily arraigned before Magisterial District Judge John Reed and held in the Snyder County Prison in lieu of $150,000 cash bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 3, 2013.

Kane thanked the Snyder County Prison, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Shamokin Dam Borough Police Department, and the Selinsgrove Borough Police Department for their assistance with the investigation.

The case will be prosecuted in Snyder County by Deputy Attorney General Christopher Jones of the Attorney General’s Child Predator Section.
