People in Lancaster County got the chance to tour a brand new facility, dedicated and designed to help people fighting cancer. The Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute was open to the public on Saturday.
The $46 million, two story facility brings together advanced treatment technologies and a natural healing environment.
There is abundant natural light, a living green wall, terra cotta walls and even a meditation pavilion for patients and families.
“We’re actually surrounded by the highest technology possible, we have the first in the nation
M6 Cyberknife and a new radiation machine,” says Dr. Randall Oyer.
The institute also features nine family consultation rooms, 37 examination rooms, and a Fresh View Café with locally-grown organic produce.
