MORE WIDESPREAD STORMS

It may be sunny, hot, and humid now, but showers and thunderstorms are making a comeback into the forecast.  In the meantime, expect another warm and soupy overnight period.  Lows dip into the upper 60s to lower 70s.  Then an upper level piece of energy approaches us into Sunday.  This gives enough lift in the atmosphere to produce some widespread scattered afternoon showers and storms.  Some storms could be on the stronger side and produce strong, gusty winds.  Highs reach the upper 80s throughout the region.  Monday, the piece of energy exiting the region should still bring scattered showers and storms.  Highs fall back into the middle to upper 80s.

BRIEF RELIEF IN SIGHT

The hot and humid conditions are here to stay for quite some time.  Highs hover near 90 degrees Tuesday and Wednesday.  An isolated thunderstorm chance is also present each day.  A cold front approaches the region Thursday.  It brings scattered showers and thunderstorms to the region.  Highs fall back into the middle 80s.  More importantly, this cold front temporarily breaks the humidity!

SAY IT ISN’T SO?

It seems like another strong blocking area of high pressure forms in the Atlantic by the end of the week.  What does this mean for us on the East Coast?  Since weather systems normally move from west to east, it means Thursday’s system might not be able to continue its easterly progress.  So it could get stuck right over the eastern United States and keep us unsettled.  The humidity is temporarily broken, and we stay seasonal and dry for Friday.  By Saturday, however, some humidity and unsettled conditions return.  Expect highs to hover in the middle 80s.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
