A new $3.8 million fire station will soon be coming to York County. Officials held a groundbreaking ceremony this morning to kick off the construction.
The new station will be located between East Market Street and Eastern Boulevard just East of York. It will house Springetts Fire Company along with the York Area United Fire and Rescue administrative headquarters.
The companies say they are looking forward to the brand new building and hope it will help expand the fire department in the process. It is expected to take about a year for crews to build the house.
