Lawyers for former Pennsylvania State President Graham Spanier file a defamation lawsuit against former FBI Director Louis Freeh. The suit was filed late Thursday in the Court of Common Pleas in Centre County.  The petition seeks money damages against Freeh and his law firm.  The Freeh Report, an internal investigation into the Jerry Sandusky child sex scandal, was released one year ago tomorow, July 12, 2012.  In it, Spanier, former top administrators Tim Curley, Gary Schultz and head football coach Joe Paterno were implicated in a so called coverup of Sandusky’s actions.

Charges against Spanier, Curley and Schultz include obstruction of justice and perjury.  All three men maintain their innocence.  They face a preliminary hearing later this month.
