A bicyclist with a flat tire and no cell phone hitches a ride with a couple headed to the Dave Matthew’s Band Concert in Hershey. That stranded man ?  None other than Dave Matthews himself.

Joseph Proffitt and his girl friend Emily Knauss have been Dave Matthew’s Band fans for years. And Saturday on their way to the concert,  they spotted Matthew on the side of the road.

“ I was looking out the window and I see this guy holding up a mountain bike and I looked at him and continued to look forward and I was like, that was Dave, turn around ” says Proffitt

The Grammy award-winning artist had been out on a bike ride when he got a flat tire. And without a cell phone, he’d be late to his own concert. The couple happily offered Matthews a ride.

When asked if he`d like to hop in the front? He humbly declined.

“  There wasn`t much room so he was like, that`s fine I`ll find a spot. So sure enough he climbs in the back and down the road we go talking about where he was going and where he`d been,” says Proffitt

Matthews thanked the couple with dinner, back stage passes, front row seats, and a shout out during the show.
