A York County man who pulled a gun during a fight over a vehicle deposit on Friday night is facing criminal charges, police said.

Chad Michael Peters, 32, of Stewartstown, is charged with simple assault and harassment. Police were dispatched to the 100 block of North Third Street in New Freedom Borough around 7:06 p.m. for a report of an argument involving a gun.

Officers arrived and found multiple people in the area with two reported to have a gun that was displayed, police said.

After questioning several people involved in the fight–officers learned the argument was sparked over the sale of a vehicle and the return of a deposit. The argument escalated when one of the men pulled a gun out and pointed it at two others.

Officers located a loaded gun and arrested Peters at the scene.

Peters was taken to York County Central Booking on $10,000 bail.
