Cell phone service was restored Saturday morning to Verizon Wireless customers in Central Pennsylvania after a downed tree cut a fiber cable in Harrisburg on Friday night.
Verizon Wireless spokesman Sheldon Jones said all service had been restored by 10 a.m. on Saturday.
Verizon Wireless was notified around 6 p.m. on Friday of a network service interruption in portions of Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin and York counties, said Jones.
The outage impacted both voice and data service.
Engineers worked around the clock to repair the broken fiber cable.
