A Lebanon County firefighter serving with the Quentin Volunteer Fire Company was killed Monday while responding to an accident in Cornwall Borough. The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on Route 322 near Spangler Road as 20-year-old Bruce Sensenig was responding to an emergency call in his personal vehicle.
Police say Sensenig, of North Cornwall, was about three-quarters of a mile from the fire department when he lost control of his vehicle and crossed the center line. Senensig was struck by a westbound minivan that crashed into his passenger side, police said.
Sensenig was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the minivan, Wayne Geltz, 63, of Lititz, was taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for treatment. No word on his condition.
Police believe poor weather conditions played a role in the crash.
