An Allentown man faces numerous charges following a police chase with speeds topping 100 mph in northern Lebanon County this morning. Pennsylvania State Police attempted to stop 22 year old Ismael Samuel Torres, who was driving a minivan on westbound Interstate 78 near exit 8 in Bethel Township, for a traffic violation at about 9:05 am.

Instead of stopping, Torres fled at a rate of speed onto westbound Route 22 through a construction zone. He nearly struck three construction workers. He crossed over the center median and headed eastbound on Route 22.  He then turned north onto Indiantown Gap Road and onto Asher Miner Road.  He continued onto Moonshine Road, Route 443. While attempting turn north onto Route 72 in Union Township, he lost control of the minivan and crashed into a large tree.

Police discovered in the wreckage a 16 year old passenger.  Both Torres and the juvenile escaped serious injury.  Charges Torres include Fleeing and Eluding. He also had a DUI suspended license.
