Since 1984 National Night Out has brought  police departments and the community together. America’s night against crime happens in towns across the country. With police and fire demos, food, and games, it’s a big night for local police departments. While the night is about having a good time police want to make sure people take home the right message.

“  It`s a real balance you can’t all of a sudden let this be a fun thing and forget that this is the purpose for community and police interaction and getting information to people for their daily lives and safety in the community,” says Chief Jim Walsh, West Lampeter Township Police Department

West Lampeter Township won the National Night Out Rookie of the Year Award when it first started six years ago.
