Mosquito control spraying set for Hamilton and Reading twps., Adams County

The Adams County Conservation District’s West Nile Virus Program will be conducting ultra low volume (ULV) mosquito control operation in Hamilton and Reading Townships, Adams County.  The treatments will be conducted on Thursday, August 15th, 2013.  We will be using a truck mounted sprayer. The control work will begin around sunset.

This control work is in response to high numbers of mosquitoes collected that have tested positive for WNV in these areas.

In Hamilton Twp. we will be conducting the control operation in the Cedar Ridge development.

In Reading Twp. we will be conducting the control operationin the residential areas off of Stoney Point Rd. and around Browns Dam Road.

The business license for the Conservation District is BU 6875.  The product used will be Permanone RTU a rate of 1.50oz./acre.  This product is designed to provide quick knockdown and effective control of adult mosquitoes.

Weather conditions and other unexpected events could delay or cancel these control operations, if this happens these treatments will be rescheduled.
