Lancaster City man arrested on firearm and assault charges

A  man wanted on weapon and assault charges is arrested in Lancaster City.   29 year old Akeem Kevin Washington was taken into custody by city and East Lampeter Township police at about 1 o’clock Friday afternoon at his home in the 400 block of South Plum Street.

Washington faces charges after an incident that began at about 2 am Thursday.  He allegedly forced a woman at gunpoint into an apartment in the 100 block of West Main Street in Leola.  During the altercation a shot was fired inside the apartment which was occupied by other adults and children.  The bullet harmlessly hit a wall. Washington fled the scene in his red 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe.

Charges against Washington include Person not to Possess Firearms, Stalking, Simple Assault and Recklessly Endangering another Person.
