A few dozen students are learning the highs and lows of aviation from the pros in York County.

Around 35 scouts from the Capital regions spent Monday at the Capital City Airport, in York County, learning about different kinds of airplanes.  It’s the 74th Anniversary of National Aviation Day.  Organizers say President Roosevelt started the day to celebrate a Wright brother’s birthday.  The celebration is also a chance for boy scouts to earn badges.

Boy scout, James Redmond says, “I’ve learned about this before in NASA camp and we’ve learned about aviation so I really liked it.”

Event organizer, William Seig says, “I love coming to work and as a kid, I wanted to be a pilot , I thought it was so cool and seeing the excitement on the kids.”

9 airports around PA are participating in the celebration.
