Harrisburg Heat soccer player shot in West Chester

soccer-player-shotA soccer player with the Harrisburg Heat is fighting for his life after being shot in Chester County in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police in West Chester say 35 year old Jason Hotchkin is in critical condition after being shot in the arms, legs, and back. They say the shooting happened after some sort of altercation along the 50th block of North Church Street.

Police arrested 25 year old Curtis Zelbey of Kennet Square for the shooting. He’s charged with attempted murder.  They also say another Harrisburg man was hurt during the altercation. 35 year old Maffat Odvor received minor injuries.

Hotchkin was in West Chester for a youth event. He’s currently a coach with the Capital Area Soccer Association.
