West Jackson Street in York City is getting a much needed makeover, thanks to the streetscape project. The beautification project is a joint partnership between West Jackson Street property owners, the City of York, York College, Columbia Gas, The York Water Company, Rotary Club of York, and Susquehanna Real Estate. The project extending from the bridge over Tyler Run to Pershing Avenue will include new curbs and sidewalks, ornamental lighting, pedestrian crosswalks, and new street trees. York Mayor Kim Bracey spoke at the groundbreaking, emphasizing the importance of making the community both safe and enjoyable for residents living in the area.
