Between July 8, 2013 and August 15, 2013 the Northern York County Regional Police Department participated in PennDOT’s PA Aggressive Driving Enforcement and Education Project. This particular time frame was called HEAT on 30. HEAT stands for Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic. The target area was the SR30 corridor in Manchester Township.
During the six week effort the Northern York County Regional Police Department designated 69 hours of patrol time to the HEAT on 30 effort. The results of that effort are as follows;
- 139 traffic stops
- 177 traffic citations
- 2 felony arrests
- 1 DUI arrest
- 1 Drug Act arrest
- 1 warrant arrest
During the same six week period, and during normal patrol activities, the Northern York County Regional Police issued an additional 136 traffic citations on SR30 as well as made an additional 5 DUI arrests.
Aggressive driving enforcement will continue in the SR30 corridor.
