We all love coach purses, and apparently that includes thieves. Police believe the same two men have broken into two different stores. “They are still calculating the loss but it has potential to be substantial,” said Derry Township Police Chief Patrick O’Rourke.
On august 14th two men hit the Coach store at the Tanger Outlets in Derry Township. “They made entry by smashing out the glass window. They were in the store for a very short period of time and exited with a very large volume of merchandise,” said O’Rourke.
The thieves only spent three to four minutes in the store. They managed to grab a significant amount of merchandise.
Police think they were in the store before to study the layout. “Smash and grabs usually happen on a lower scale, a smaller scale, this one here was a little bit more brazen. I think it was planned out very well,” said O’Rourke.
On August 19th police believe the same two men moved to the Tanger Outlets in Lancaster. Around 2 a.m. early Monday morning burglars smashed out the front glass door at the Coach store. “There were some similarities that peaked our interest, and then later in the day we had some communications between the two agencies that suggest we’re probably looking at the same two suspects,” said O’Rourke.
Video surveillance in the Derry Township store captured images of the suspects and their vehicle. The vehicle is described as a silver two-door with unknown registration.
The two suspects are described as males, 20-30 years old, one black, one white, both with short hair, wearing dark hooded jackets, jeans and sneakers.
