Lancaster City Police respond to a call reporting a fight near the intersection of Green Street and Pershing Avenue and arrest a man on firearms charges.  The man was fingered by Lancaster Community Safety Coalition cameras.

The incident began with the fight at about 8:38 Saturday evening. A coalition camera recorded a man who had been involved in the fight tucking a handgun into his front pants waistband.  LCSC employees contacted city police and gave a description of the suspect.

Meantime, the man, still under observation by a coalition camera walked to a home in the 500 block of Pershing Avenue and sat down in a chair on the porch. The camera recorded the suspect as he took the firearm from his waistband and tuck it under the chair’s seat cushion.  He was seated next to a young child.

Police were directed to where the man was seated. The man was identified as 18 year old Isaiah Rodriguez, who gave a home address in the 400 block of East Grant Street.  Police also seized the handgun, a loaded .380 semi-automatic, from underneath the cushion. They also found an opened bottle of rum in Rodriguez’s possession.

Charges against Rodriguez include Firearms Not to be Carried Without a License, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and Open Container.  Following arraignment Rodriguez was sent to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.
