MUGGY, STORMY: One more day of the muggy, warm, summer air is in place for your Thursday. Today, we bring the chance for some rain and storms to the forecast too. This morning, an upper level disturbance is racing overhead, bringing with it some early morning scattered showers and storms. These will break and give way to some sunshine for midday. This will heat us up as a front approaches. Scattered storms are possible again in the afternoon and evening. We’ll be in the upper 80s today with plenty of mugginess. The front passes overnight after we lose a lot of energy for the day, so it looks like showers and storms may linger overnight, but will be fizzling and breaking up as they shift south.
INTO THE WEEKEND: The front clears around daybreak Friday, but it takes a bit to scour out the clouds. By afternoon, we should see plenty of sunshine from north to south. Highs will hit the low to middle 80s and northwesterly winds begin to bring in drier, more comfortable air.
Saturday and Sunday will be blissful! We begin the mornings in the upper 50s both days. Saturday we top out near 80 and Sunday we hit the low 80s. Enjoy what may be one of the best weekends of summer!
NEXT WEEK: Monday looks dry but warmer as we begin to feel the return of the humidity. We’re warmer Tuesday, in the middle 80s now with clouds rolling in ahead of our next disturbance. Scattered storms are possible later in the day. We have a chance for rain lingering into Wednesday as the system passes. Highs will be in the low 80s.
Here’s to a fantastic Friday Eve! Enjoy your Thursday.
