Folks in Lancaster dive into a sweet treat tonight, for a deliciously good cause.
Ice cream from Turkey Hill was donated to build this 250 foot banana split sundae.
People were about to buy tickets to enjoy a piece of the dessert which was orchestrated by Scoops Ice Cream and Grille.
The sundae was built in honor of National Banana Split Day.
Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society and the United Auxiliaries of Lancaster General Hospital.
“It’s a good feeling personally just because I’ve been affected by cancer by my family I don’t think there’s not one person who’s not been directly affected somehow by cancer. To know we’re a small ice cream shop a restaurant that’s doing our part to help in the battle and fight this deadly disease,” says Jason Risner, the owner of Scoops Ice Cream and Grille.
In addition to the big treat, families also enjoyed games, prizes, and a car show.
