A Harrisburg man accused of passing out behind the wheel along a Fairview Township road last month is facing DUI charges, police said.
Police say 53-year-old Randall Lee Rupert’s blood alcohol content was .246–that’s three times over the legal limit of .08.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Wyndamere Road at Woodland Avenue on July 27 for a report of a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road.
Investigators say they found Rupert severely intoxicated at the scene. A witness is credited with getting Rupert out of his vehicle and off the road, police said.
He was taken to Harrisburg Hospital for treatment.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 11.
