Employees at the Old Navy Store in Lancaster City arrive at work Monday morning to discover signs of a forced entry. The discovery was made at about 7:05 am at the store located inside the Red Rose Commons along the 1700 block of Fruitville Pike. Employees immediately called police fearing that a burglar or burglars may still be inside.
When officers arrived they checked inside the store and found no one. It appeared that cash and merchandise were stolen. An inventory should reveal the total amount of loss and damage. City detectives are investigating the possibility that the incident is related to other recent commercial burglaries.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Lancaster City Police at (717) 735-3300 or Lancaster City-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-322-1913.
