To jumpstart the final leg of Harley-Davidson’s year-long, global 110th Anniversary celebration, Bill Davidson, great-grandson of company co-founder William A. Davidson, will take delivery of a new 2014 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special directly from the factory assembly line at the company’s York, Pa. facility on Monday, Aug. 26. The motorcycle is part of Project RUSHMORE, a comprehensive new customer driven effort designed to fundamentally improve every aspect of the riding experience through category-leading technology and design enhancements. The new Project RUSHMORE bikes were introduced last week at the company’s annual dealer meeting.

Davidson will ride the new Project RUSHMORE bike for more than 700 miles, stopping to meet with Harley-Davidson dealers and customers along the way, before delivering it to the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, just in time for the company’s 110th celebration.
