SUMMER AIR: I promised the best weather weekend of summer, and I hope you got a chance to enjoy it! Now, we’re back to summer air for the last week of August. We’re on the edge of a bubble of high pressure aloft, which will keep us warm and muggy. Since we’re on the edge, we’re under northwest flow aloft. Several chunks of energy will slide overhead through Wednesday, which puts the chance for storms in the forecast each day. Timing is notoriously troublesome with a northwesterly flow, so each day we’ll be watching the radar to see what fires.
TIMING: For today, we’re in the middle to upper 80s with increasing clouds. A wave of storms and showers may sag south later in the evening and overnight hours as they fizzle. Tuesday features a similar day with the chance for showers and storms later in the day. Wednesday, the final chunk of energy slides through bringing us our final and best shot at storms. Highs will be in the middle 80s. It will be pretty stuffy with the added humidity thorough mid week.
LATE WEEK: The final shot of storms comes along a cold front, but it really doesn’t do much to our temperatures for late week. It will drop our humidity a bit and clear the skies some. Highs will remain in the middle 80 under partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies.
LABOR DAY WEEKEND: For now, the weekend looks mainly rain free through Monday. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s with partly cloudy skies. We’ll keep an eye on the forecast for you through the week.
Make it a great Monday!
