A man is behind bars after he crashed his vehicle into a utility pole during a police chase in Lancaster City on Monday, authorities said.
Christopher David Miller, of Lancaster, is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police officers, reckless driving and driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked.
Investigators say Miller was driving on a suspended license and sped off when officers attempted to pull him over along the 800 block of East King Street around 2:16 p.m.
The chase ended when Miller lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a utility pole at the intersection of South Franklin and Chesapeake Streets.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment and released.
Miller was taken to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
As a precaution–students from Washington Elementary and Hand Middle School’s were kept from being dismissed until Miller was in custody.
