A routine traffic stop reminiscent of the old tv show, “Dukes of Hazzard” ends with a York County man getting into a fight with police. The incident began at about 2:18 am on Monday when an Northern York County Regional Police officer attempted to stop a speeding car on Derry Street. The vehicle was clocked at 83 mph in a 35 mph on Carlisle Road in Dover Township.
When the dark colored Dodger Charger came to a stop, the driver, identified as 25 year old Jacob Slivinski, of West Manchester Township, jumped out and ran away. Slivinski was yelling “Yee-haw” as he ran through several front yards. The pursuing officer finally caught up with Slivinski in a yard near Church Road.
Slivinski did not give up peacefully. He began fighting with the officer and eventually headbutted the officer in the face. The officer eventually overcame Slivinski and held him until additional officers arrived on the scene.
Charges against Slivinski include Aggravated Assault, Resisting Arrest, Driving under the Influence, Driving while under Suspension and Speeding.
