Residents came from across the city of York to meet in Penn Park on Sunday.
They celebrated Unity Day. The event has been going on for more than a decade, but it’s the second year nonprofit HOOD has organized it.
Groups marched to the park from four corners in York to build community and remember their connections.
“There’s not four different types of York city, there’s one York,” says Sandra Thompson, president of the NAACP. “We want peace in the streets, we want our children to be able to grow up in a safe neighborhood.”
