An 8-year-old Cumberland County boy remains in the hospital after his younger brother accidentally shot him at a home in Southampton Township.
The homeowner says he is still alive, but there are no details released about his condition. He was airlifted to Hershey Medical Center. Police say his younger brother was taken to foster care.
Police still have not said how the children got hold of a loaded gun, or who owned it.
Neighbors said they rarely saw the children, and that they had only moved into the house with their mother, recently.
“I think whoever owned the gun is responsible. If you own a gun, you’re responsible,” says neighbor Ronald Liddick. “You know where it’s at, have it under control.”
