Despite gunfire, a police standoff in Dauphin County ends with the suspect surrendering peacefully.  It began at about 1:30 Monday afternoon as a domestic dispute near Dalmatia in Northumberland County.  The suspect Larry Lohr, 48, left the area and drove to his home in Halifax Township, Dauphin County.

Pennsylvania State Police arrived at Lohr’s home at about 1:55 pm.  Troopers made an effort to contact and negotiate with Lohr.   He finally came out brandishing a firearm prompting  troopers to take defensive positions around the house.  Lohr went back inside. Shortly thereafter he came out again and this time fired a round from a .357 magnum in an unknown direction.  He again went back inside the home.

Police eventually persuaded Lohr to surrender and he was put under arrest.  He faces a charge of Reckless Endangerment.  Lohr was taken to Harrisburg Hospital.
