A cold front pushed through this afternoon and produced nothing more than some clouds. They will clear this evening and once the sun sets, temperatures will plummet quickly. A much drier airmass is settling in dropping our dewpoints to the 40s. Clear skies, light to calm winds and dry conditions will lead to good radiational cooling. Lows expected in the 40s across the area. It will be the first time temperatures got this chilly since May 27th when we had a low of 42 degrees. Some areas may see that but most of us will be in the mid to upper 40s. Still quite chilly!
Plenty of sunshine in place to end the week but highs will run well below average in the low 70s.
Heading into the evening you may need a jacket or sweater heading out. There will be a chill in the air once the sun sets. If you are going to one of the area football games, it will be perfect weather for the sport. Just be prepared to bring a sweatshirt, jacket and maybe even a blanket to stay warm! Temps will be in the upper 60s to low 70s at the start of the game but dropping especially once the sun sets.
Our dry stretch continues into the weekend with just a few clouds rolling in later in the day Saturday. Southwest flow out ahead of our next frontal system will warm temps into the upper 70s after a cool start in the upper 40s to low 50s.
Sunday the front pushes across the area early. Partly sunny skies expected and a very slight chance of a pop up shower. Not a lot of moisture expected with the front so most of the area will be rain free. Highs will get to near 80.
RAIN CHANCES RETURN NEXT WEEK
We are cooler and dry for Monday with highs in the mid to upper 70s as high pressure builds in. A nice ridges forms over the east which helps to warm temps back up for the middle part of the week. Warm front on Tuesday will increase some clouds and a southeast flow along with the a few clouds will hold temps around 80 but once in the warm sector we are back into the mid 80s for Wednesday with only an isolated threat for a shower or storm. Thursday the next front arrives packing a little more moisture and there will be a chance for showers and thunderstorms.
Have a great night and enjoy the taste of fall early!
