Two Lancaster City women face charges after apparently attempting to rob a Northwest Savings Bank branch. It happened at about 10:21 am in the 900 block of Columbia Avenue. The women, one carrying a handgun and the other with a handgun in her waistband, walked into the bank wearing masks and surgical gloves.
They loitered in the lobby for a few minutes and at one point walked toward the vault area. The suspects left the bank after one of the bank teller attempted to engage the women in conversation. Responding police checked the area and located two suspects matching descriptions by bank employees walking in the 300 block of West Orange Street.
The women were positively identified as 22 year old Yomaira Correa and 32 year old Alice Purdue Davis. A bag one of the suspects was carrying contained two pellet pistols. Both women live in an apartment in the 200 block of West Walnut Street in the city.
Charges against both women include Robbery and Criminal Conspiracy.
