A Mechanicsburg man who refused to check out of a Wormleysburg motel is facing charges after he kicked out a patrol car window while resisting arrest, police said
The incident began around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday when authorities received a report of an unruly guest refusing to check out at the Econo-Lodge along the 800 block of North Front Street.
According to police reports, 34-year-old John Peter Buterbaugh became upset with an officer and tried to slam the door in their face after he pushed them out of his room.
He then attempted to get to his vehicle and began resisting arrest, police said.
While being taken into custody Buterbaugh spat on officers and kicked out the rear window of the patrol car, according to police.
Buterbaugh was taken to Cumberland County Prison and charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.
