Carroll Township Police Sean Kapfhammer has resigned. The Carroll Township Board of Supervisors accepted his resignation at their monthly meeting Monday night.
Chief Kapfhammer says he has accepted a position at Loyola Univeristy of Maryland as their deputy director of public safety for the campus police.
In a statement Kapfhammer said, “I feel that this will position will give me a chance to spend much more time with the family since it is so close to home. I am very appreciative of being given the chance to be chief of police in Carroll Township the past three years. I have met many wonderful people both professionally and personally. It was an honor to serve the residents of Carroll Township, Dillsburg Borough and Monaghan Township.
Kapfhammer was hired as Chief of Police in 2011. He will officially leave the department near the end of the month.
