COOL AND CRISP: A dome of cool fall air has settled in and will hold us below average through Wednesday. Today is sunny, dry and very cool. We’ll only hit the middle to upper 60s for highs. Tonight, we drop into the 40s, with some spots sliding into the 30s! Our record low at Harrisburg is 40°-1990. We’ll come pretty close. Thursday, we warm back to the low 70s with plenty of sunshine and a few clouds arriving late.
MILDER FINISH: We’ll end the week a bit milder, with warmer air nudging northbound for Thursday. Highs will hit the middle 70s with partly cloudy skies. Expect a few more clouds on Friday with highs nearing 80°. We could see a stray shower late, but for now Friday looks mainly dry.
WEEKEND TRICKS: The models were pushing a front through Saturday with clearing for Sunday into Monday. Key word, “were”. Now they are hinting at a lobe of energy pinching off from the main flow, which mucks up the forecast by slowing things down. For now, the weekend looks mostly cloudy and seasonably mild with highs in the middle to upper 70s. We could see showers and storms on either day. Then as the system slides to the Atlantic from our South, strong easterly flow may keep us cooler with showers For Monday. We’ll need to watch the evolution of this system to hammer down the details, but do expect a very changeable forecast fro Sat-Mon.
Remember autumn arrives on Sunday at 4:44PM! Have a terrific Tuesday!
