Harley-Davidson York Vehicle Operations invites the public this week to celebrate the factory’s 40th year in the York community. The factory’s annual Open House is Thursday, September 19 through Saturday, September 21.
Harley says the event has something for everyone: Take a free tour, test ride a new model year ’14 motorcycle, listen to live music, watch a stunt show, buy merchandise from five area
dealers, eat food from various vendors, and see the first motorcycle made at the York factory!
Although children under 12 are not typically permitted on tours due to safety concerns, all children can tour the facility on Saturday. It is a rare opportunity for children to tour York Vehicle Operations. (Note: There is no production on Saturday, but there is still plenty to see!)
Free self-guided tours of the expanded and modernized factory where Harley-Davidson Softail®, Touring, CVO™ and Trike motorcycles are produced are available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. this week. Open House event hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The facility is located at 1425 Eden Road, York.
