New Holland Police say a former treasurer stole $20,000 from a local youth swim team. Shelly Martin, 48, of 73 North Railroad Avenue in New Holland, is accused of stealing money from the New Holland Dolphins Swim Team when she served as the team’s treasurer. Swim team board members discovered the missing funds when Martin left her position as treasurer. In all, she stole $20,046.32 while serving as Treasurer between January 2010 and August of 2013.
According to police, Martin admitted to stealing the money from the New Holland Dolphins Swim Team.
She is charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition and is currently free on $50,000 unsecured bail.
