There are all types of reality shows on TV today, and among the more popular, are those having to do with child beauty pageants. From Honey Boo Boo to TLC’s Toddlers and Tiaras, Americans seem to be infatuated with tot pageants.
But in France, that’s not the case. In fact, lawmakers there are trying to pass a ban on children partaking in beauty pageants. The Senate just passed a vote that would ban children under the age of 16 from participating in a beauty pageant.
While the proposed bill still needs one more vote to go through, lawmakers think it will pass. The goal is to protect young girls from being sexually exploited.
