Hanover Borough Police are investigating an attempted child luring.  It happened at about 5 pm Wednesday in the 200 block of York Street.   Police say a 14 year girl was walking on York Street in the area of East Middle Street when she noticed a vehicle moving slowly beside her.  As she continued to walk, a male driver began talking to her through an open passenger side window,

The driver asked if she needed a ride.  She said no and continued walking. The driver then ordered the girl to get into the car.  With those words, the girl ran all the way home.  She told her parents what happened.

Police are looking for a newer model Jeep Wrangler with a hard top, silver or gray in color, with black interior and black tinted windows. The man is described as a white male, between 50 and 60 years, heavy set with a full gray beard and possibly a mustache. He had mostly bald grayish hair on the sides of his head. He wore a white tee shirt and thin framed glasses with oval shaped lenses.  The Jeep was last seen headed east in the 200 block of York Street.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact police through York County 911 or (717) 637-5575.
