A planned Ku Klux Klan rally at Gettysburg National Military Park this weekend has been canceled due to the government shutdown.

The park has rescinded all permits for special events, including the Oct. 5 demonstration held by the Maryland-based KKK group, according to park spokeswoman Katie Lawhon.

The group had received a special use permit to assemble on the lawn north of Meade’s Headquarters along Taneytown Road.
