A Lititz Borough man, 19 year old Michael Joshua Weis, faces multiple charges in a month long crime spree.  Northern Lancaster County Regional Police and Lititz Borough Police say from August 20 to September 23, 2013, Weis is alleged to had taken 8 firearms from various residences in Warwick and Clay Townships and sold them.  6 of the weapons have been recovered.  He is also accused of stealing coins and jewelry during the burglaries.  Some of the items were recovered from local pawn shops.

Weis was initially charged on September 27 with Burglary and two counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking for a residential burglary in the 200 block of North Clay Road, which was reported to police on September 9.  Items from the burglary included an estimated $ 3,000 in jewelry, three firearms, coins and gift cards valued at approximately $1,000.00.

On September 28, Weis was taken into custody after a brief foot chase by members of the NLCRPD and Lititz Borough Police. He was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and suspected controlled substances at the time of the warrant service. After arraignment he was released on $25,000 bail.

investigators filed additional charges and obtained an arrest warrant for Weis on Wednesday, October 2 for numerous other crimes he committed during the August to September  time-frame. These charges stem from investigations into burglaries on Lititz Run Road and East Newport Road. He is also accused of theft from vehicles, loitering and prowling at night in the area of Pine Wood Avenue, Lititz.

Following arraignment Thursday morning on the additional charges he was returned to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $ 225,000 bail.
